indiana jones wears one...

With all the chatter circulating the web regarding the iPad and its travel friendly nature, I couldn’t help but also posit the question, will the iPad spark a man purse/satchel renaissance? In all seriousness, I was always pretty skeptical about the iPad’s fragility. Could it be safely stowed in a nap sack or an oversized tote without getting scratched or damaged? I suppose this answers my question.

  1. I've also been a little skeptical about the ipad. I'm an avid apple user but I don't want to just jump on that very expensive band wagon just because they've never missed before. I keep wondering if it actually will be useful for reading books on, or if my eyes will burn out of their sockets? What if I drop it? What if I spill coffee on it (it wouldn't be the first time). I'm watching with cautious optimism to see if this thing catches on before I take out a mortgage to buy my very own.

  2. haha well said. When I spilt a bottle of water on my MacBook, I took the battery out and let the thing dry upside down for a day, but when I dropped my ipod in a giant puddle this morning, I really couldn't do anything at the time. I just wiped it off on my jeans, shed a small tear and carried on my way. The iPad seriously seems pretty delicate and cumbersome. I doubt it could take the abuse my other electronics endure.

Besides being a penniless student who would have to break the bank to afford one, I think I may just be way too clumsy to own an iPad. With my luck, the thing would be a coffee catastrophe waiting to happen.
